This episode will focus on the power of a water fast both spiritually and physically. I will also talk about the inspiration I received from the song, The Voice of Truth, and how much easier it is to hear Jesus and his voice of truth when water fasting and focusing on getting closer to him. Finally, I will list the various medications, supplements, herbs and other things I am using to combat the cancer. However, I won’t go into detail on any of it until another episode.

More Resources on Diet and Fasting
I have a post that focuses on the types and benefits of intermittent fastingwhich would help lead up to prolonged fasting. I also have posts on the keto diet and why low carb diets without processed food and seed oils are best in general. For many of the same reasons I wrote about in those, they are extremely helpful in fighting cancer and in preparing to fast. I mentioned I drink water with electrolytes during a prolonged fast in order to avoid cramps. This is the unflavored electrolyte recipe I use.Â

I would love to hear testimonials in the comments from anyone who has been helped by fasting. Please subscribe and share if you find this informative or encouraging. If you are battling cancer or know someone close to you who is. I pray you hear God’s voice and allow his peace to envelope you in Jesus’ name.
Hi Christy, it’s Tuan Thai (SCU). Where does gut health fall into your diet/fasting routine? I don’t see it in your fasting list. Gut flora is so critical to fighting/warding off disease. Whenever I have a stomach issue, I replenish my gut flora with beneficial bacteria (kimchi, stinky tofu, yogurt, papaya salad). It may initially give you the runs, but that is part of the good bacteria building up and letting out, well, gas.
Fasting is good because it unlocks the fat fuel burning; but, like chemo, it is also destructive to the body when not combined with regular exercise and feeding the healthy part of the body that needs to grow. A similar approach to fasting that unlocks fat fuel burning is ultra distance running. I’ve done many ultra marathon (50k range) that triggers fat burning as a fuel source, but it also requires the body to under go strain and load. I’ve learned from those long runs that my body DOES get stronger. Perhaps, it’s from a combination of fasting-like stimuli AND promotion of healthy cells (muscles, bones, endorphins). Of course, the question for you would be where does exercise fall in combination with fasting? Humans were meant to move based on our physiology.
I am sorry to hear of the cancer diagnosis. I lost my mother in law to it, but not because of the cancer. Her cause of death was actually candida – the basic yeast that babies get on their tongue. Yes, the chemo therapy had zeroed her immune system so far that even the basic yeast took her in a matter of hours after eating just plain rice porridge. She was not a fan of stinky food (probiotic type foods).
I don’t eat processed foods or sugar and extremely little dairy so my diet is very clean now. I am incorporating things like sauerkraut and pickles and probiotic powder/supplements to some degree. I have also started to do some berries and organic soy. I’ll talk about food in a later episode. I am active daily but probably should incorporate more aerobic exercise, but I really don’t like it. Thanks for the extensive comment. Good to hear from you.

You are certainly digging up some good research. Keep the faith and keep sharing. Love you guys.

Thanks. I’m trying. There is so much out there. I’m praying for wisdom to know which to trust and which are most doable and effective for me.

I’ve got to run for now. Take good care.
