Songs of Desire for God to Use Us in This Season

Crying Out For God To Use Us

This post includes a mix of songs, the spirit of which has been on my heart in the last couple of weeks. Each song makes known to God the desire and availability to be used by him. All around me I hear cries from the spirit realm that Jesus is about ready to do a new thing on this Earth before his imminent return. I long to be part of the end time apostolic revival that is coming and, in fact, has already begun. I feel in my spirit that it is like a snowball that has left the top of the hill and is gaining speed. Or it may be compared to a tsunami that will surprise those who don’t pay attention to the early indicators.

Lord, Whatever You're Doing In This Season, Don't Do It Without Me

This first song is in an old gospel style with Bishop Paul Morton on The Power of Gospel album. The song is called “Don’t Do It Without Me.” In it he recognizes that God works in seasons. He longs to be included in what God is doing in this season, whether it be healing or blessing or something else. He desires to be touched by God’s power as well as used to touch others. Since it is an easy song with few words, I recommend singing it as a heartfelt prayer to God.

Keep Me In The Moment

The next song is in the contemporary Christian genre and the most recently released one on this list. It’s called “Keep Me in The Moment” by Jeremy Camp. In it he realizes that time races by, and we can easily miss what God is doing and wanting for us and from us right now. We only have one chance with each opportunity God places before us. We need to stay in the moment, in tune with what Jesus is doing. He asks that God search his heart and not let him stray from where God wants him. Only the time spent in God’s will is time not wasted. If we are chasing our own ungodly desires and don’t recognize what really matters, we will miss the blessings and miracles he has for us.

Lord, I'm Available To You

Another old gospel choir song is by Rev. Milton Brunson released in 1988 with the Thomson Community Singers, though this recording is by the Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir. It’s titled, “I’m Available To You.” In this song we confess that God has made our hands, ears, voice, and eyes to reach others with the delivering gospel of Jesus Christ. After recognizing this, we empty ourselves of all that keeps his spirit from filling us and empowering us to be effective. We then cry out to God that we are available to be used for this purpose

Give Me Your Eyes

Along the same lines is this song by Brandon Heath, “Give Me Your Eyes.” In it, he first notices all the lost and broken people surrounding him every day. He asks to see through God’s eyes everything he has been missing, to feel God’s love for humanity and to be given his arms for the broken hearted and his heart for those forgotten. He realizes that he has been wrong for so long, passing millions in need of Jesus without the eyes to see them in love as God sees them. When we begin to see the lost with compassion, God will give us the ability to reach and heal them with his love.

If You Can Use Anything Lord, You Can Use Me

The next song, “Use Me,” by Ron Kenoly recognizes that God can empower us because he can use anything, no matter how weak or seemingly insignificant. So when we see the need and make ourselves available, he will work through us. He will take our hands, feet, and heart and use them in miraculous ways. The song gives the examples of Moses with a rod to lead Israel, of David with a sling to kill Goliath, and of the boy with two fish and five loaves of bread to give Jesus to feed the multitude. It is not our power that’s necessary, God will work through us. His power will do the work.

Like The Rushing Of A Mighty Wind

The final song, “Mighty Wind” by Andrae Crouch, is a call for the revival that will happen when God’s people pray the messages of these songs to him in sincere urgency. The rushing mighty wind that was heard on the Day of Pentecost in Acts 2:4 will be heard and felt again. It will also bring about the same results seen throughout that chapter and book. People will flock to see and hear the work of God in action. We will be like an overflowing river of his spirit spilling onto the hungry hearts around us. In John 7:37 Jesus called for thirsty people to come unto him to drink. In verse 38 he cries out, “He that believeth on me as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.” In verse 39 the scripture explains that the living water is the Holy Ghost which is Jesus moving in and through us.

The Time Is Now!

I have never felt more excitement and urgency to get a post out than I have for this one. I truly believe the time is now to pray the prayers contained within these songs so we can be part of the miraculous work God is about to bring upon this world. Please comment if you have felt anything along these lines. Let’s encourage one another to keep our focus on Jesus and step out in boldness to be the body of Christ doing his work.
